New Options Added to Biometric Screening Events

This year Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma began offering worksite wellness biometric screenings and the response has been very positive. In addition to providing total cholesterol and HDL screenings, we are now offering LDL and triglycerides testing.

In January, we are introducing a voucher program to smaller employer groups (less than 40 employees) or groups whose employees are not centrally located. The vouchers – charged per piece – include a kit containing a letter with instructions, a consent form, a health behavior questionnaire and a requisition for a national laboratory (each voucher has an expiration date determined by the employer). The group distributes the voucher kits to its employees. Employees take the voucher to the lab to have their blood drawn. A health coach calls each employee to review the lab results.

Employer groups with more than 40 participants will receive an aggregate report of employee results. Groups that hold an onsite event in conjunction with the voucher program will receive an aggregate report after the voucher expiration date.
