BlueCare
A Blue Cross and Blue Shield Long Term Care Plan
With the continuous advances in health care technology, people over age 65 are living longer than ever. However, longer life sometimes means greater risk for developing chronic illness.
That often results in the need for assisted living or nursing home care. Such long-term care can be expensive -- up to $40,000 a year -- and quickly can deplete people's assets and force them to sell their homes or burden their families.
That's why more seniors are looking into long-term care insurance, and why Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma now makes BlueCare available to its customers.
BlueCare is administered by GE Capital Assurance, the nation's largest long-term care insurance provider.
BlueCare features a choice of three plans, each with additional choices of daily and lifetime maximum benefit. Flexibility in benefits lets customers choose the coverage that best meets their anticipated needs.
Nursing home benefits are paid at 100 percent on all plans. Assisted care benefits are paid at either 80 percent or 100 percent, depending on the plan chosen. Coverage cannot be canceled because of use.
