Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma PPO, HMO networks receive URAC accreditation
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma announced that its PPO and HMO networks have received accreditation by URAC. Its major PPO health plans, BlueChoiceâ and BluePreferredâ, have received Health Network and Health Utilization Management accreditation and BlueLincs received Health Plan accreditation.
URAC is an independent, nonprofit health care accrediting organization dedicated to promoting health care quality through accreditation, certification and commendation.
BluePreferred was one of the first health plans in the nation to receive URAC accreditation in 1996. BlueChoice first applied for and received accreditation in 1998. BlueLincs first applied for and received Health Plan accreditation in 2002.
“Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma should be commended for meeting strict quality standards,” said Garry Carneal, URAC president and CEO. “It is critically important for health care organizations to make a commitment to quality and accountability. URAC accreditation is a demonstration of that commitment.”

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma is a member of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, an association of independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans.
