New Tool Available from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma to Help Consumers Navigate Health Insurance Changes
Tulsa, OK — Recent data from Blue Cross and Blue Shield finds that nearly two-thirds of people surveyed do not understand the coming changes brought about by the Affordable Care Act well enough to explain them to a friend. To help Oklahoma residents become more familiar with how the purchase of health insurance may change next year and the new benefits that could be available to them, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma has launched an online resource called AskBlue Healthcare Reform.
The AskBlue Health Reform tool offers users an interactive experience designed to improve their understanding of the changes and choices that will come with the Affordable Care Act. Learn more with the AskBlue Health Reform tool; it's free to use.
"It is our goal to help Oklahomans become educated about the choices they will face with the new health care guidelines. AskBlue was created to equip consumers with the information they need to make an informed decision as many of the new aspects of the Affordable Care Act go into effect," said Ted Haynes, president of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma also is using mobile devices and social media to improve health literacy through Twitter, Facebook and YouTube pages featuring videos, health tips, games, community activities and feedback opportunities that increase users' awareness of health issues and benefits options.
