BlueSelect Dental provides security, flexibility, choice, great benefits and affordable rates in a dental plan. Best of all, you can subscribe to BlueSelect Dental even if you get your health care coverage through your employer or with another provider.

If so, you can subscribe to our optional BlueCare® Dental PPO plan with any BCBSOK major medical plan. Check your individual plan — or the one you are considering — for more details.
Coverage Overview
Some common dental care expenses covered under this plan include:
- Oral examinations*
- Cleaning, scaling and polishing*
- Bitewing and full-mouth X-rays*
- Fluoride application and space maintainers (dependent children under 19 only)*
- Fillings, extractions, root canals, periodontal treatments, denture repair, and sedation*
- More complex restorative procedures, such as re-cementing crowns, inlays, bridges, surgical removal of teeth, stainless steel crowns and diagnosis and treatment of gum disease covered (enhanced option only)
* Some restrictions may apply to these covered services, such as number of times they can be performed per year or period, or other restrictions.
BlueSelect Dental may be right for you if you are an individual or family who:

- Wants a separate plan to help cover dental expenses
- Is looking for a plan that allows dependants, such as a spouse or children, to be added
- Wants the flexibility of having two coverage level options

Dental insurance costs include monthly payments, individual deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses. For the BlueSelect Dental plan, here’s what you can expect:
- Monthly premiums ranging from $21.60 to $109.60 for basic coverage, depending on combination of participants
- Monthly premiums ranging from $25.30 to $130.90 for enhanced coverage, depending on combination of participants
- BlueSelect Dental has an annual benefit maximum per person benefit period of $1,000
With BlueSelect Dental, you can get dental coverage for just you, or your entire family. Plus you choose your coverage option level: Basic or Enhanced. Other coverage features and highlights include:
- Guaranteed acceptance
- Access to an extensive dental network, including out-of-state dentists when you travel
- No requirement to have a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma health plan
- The plan pays 100 percent for most preventive procedures from in-network dentists, and 80 percent from out-of-network dentists*
- You’re covered for 80 percent of most preventive procedures from in-network dentists, and 60 percent from out-of-network dentists*
- With the Enhanced option, the plan pays 50 percent for complex restorative procedures from in-network dentists, and 30 percent from out-of-network dentists*
*Percentage covered after any applicable deductible is met and waiting period limits are satisfied.
- Must be a resident of the state of Oklahoma
- Eligible dependents can be your spouse or a child for whom you are legally responsible
- Members who already have Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma dental coverage are not eligible for individual dental coverage
You can customize your BlueSelect Dental plan with the coverage level that makes the most sense for the types of dental services, treatments and procedures that you and your family need today. You have the choice between two levels of coverage:
- The Basic Option 1 covers essential dental needs at a great price.
- The Enhanced Option 2 covers more complex dental procedures, such as crowns and inlays.
