Introducing BlueCare Dental Connection

Good dental care can give you more than just a good smile. Research shows a potential link between oral health and many medical conditions including heart disease, stroke, diabetes and premature birth. That’s why Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma is pleased to introduce BlueCare Dental ConnectionTM, a proactive approach that protects more than just teeth.

BlueCare Dental Connection provides dental members with online tools and information to help make important decisions about their dental care. By accessing The Dental Wellness CenterTM members can:

  • Ask licensed dentists dental-related questions through Ask A Dentist
  • Locate a network general dentist or specialist with Provider Finder®
  • Determine approximate dental fees in the marketplace with Dental Cost AdvisorTM

In addition, the Dental Wellness Center allows members to find educational information on a wide range of dental topics including pediatric care, prevention and dental treatments. Beginning in April, members with group medical and dental benefits who are at risk for health conditions complicated by dental disease will receive information in the mail to help maintain good oral and periodontal health. The mailings will provide information about periodontal disease, sealants, pregnancy, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Members with either group dental benefits or group medical and dental benefits can access the online features of BlueCare Dental Connection by logging on to Blue Access® for Members.

Members with individual dental plans can access The Dental Wellness Center through the public non-secured site at http://www.bcbsok.com/. However not all tools are available on the non-secured public member site’s version.
