About Be Smart–Don’t Start! Storyboard Contest Be Smart—Don’t Start! is a drawing and writing contest where students can create an idea for a television public service announcement (PSA) showing why people should never use tobacco.
Judges chose a grand-prize winner and first-, second- and third-place finalists in three grade categories, K-1st; 2nd-3rd and 4th-5th, for eastern and central/western Oklahoma.
The two grand-prize winners had their stories turned into 30-second public service announcements that will be broadcast on statewide television throughout the summer. The grand-prize winners and finalists, their parents and teachers were invited to an awards celebration on April 1 at the State Capitol. Teachers of the winning students received a gift certificate for classroom supplies.
