E-mail encryption information
As part of its ongoing commitment to protect members’ privacy and health information, customer service divisions of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma and BlueLincs HMO are encrypting outgoing e-mail messages and automating the encryption process for all outgoing e-mail.
The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Family of Companies has chosen Tumbleweed Corp’s IME Mail software as its e-mail encryption solution.
Access secure encrypted e-mail (IME Mail).
To view an encrypted e-mail
1. Click on the hyperlink in the e-mail. The link takes you to a Web page where you can view the message securely.
2. First time recipients register for a new account to view the encrypted message. Simply follow the instructions provided online to register for your new account. You only will have to register once. The account is free, and your e-mail address will not be shared with other parties.
Existing users log in with your e-mail address and password.
3. Access attachments to the e-mail message by clicking the underlined file name of each attachment.
Please note the expiration date in your encrypted message — messages may be accessed through IME Mail for a limited time only (typically 30 days). To save a permanent record of the e-mail message, click the checkbox next to each attachment and click "Save Checked Files."
To reply to an encrypted e-mail
1. Click the secure "Reply" button. Your message will be encrypted automatically.
2. Attach files to your reply message by clicking the "Browse" button, selecting the file and clicking the "Add" button.
To compose an encrypted e-mail
1. Within the IME Mail system, click the "New Package" button at the left of the page.
2. Attach files to your encrypted message by clicking the "Browse" button, selecting the file and clicking the "Add" button.
