Updated Apr. 10, 2017
Saint Francis Health System (Saint Francis) reached an agreement to acquire Eastar Health System’s (Eastar) two Muskogee hospitals and affiliated entities. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma’s (BCBSOK) contract with Eastar ended when this acquisition took place. Upon acquisition, both of Eastar’s hospitals are now collectively known as Saint Francis Hospital Muskogee (Saint Francis Muskogee).
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) and Saint Francis Muskogee have agreed on a transition period to allow current BCBSOK members in-network access through May 31, 2017.
This applies to the following BCBSOK networks: Blue TraditionalSM, Blue Choice PPOSM, Blue Preferred PPOSM, Blue Advantage PPOSM, BlueLincs HMOSM and Caring Program for Children Network.
Individuals enrolled in Medicare Supplemental or Medicare AdvantageSM HMO & PPO products are not impacted by the transition period and will continue to be covered in-network.
