Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma hosting events to educate members on in-network hospital and provider options
(Oklahoma City, OKLA.) – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) is fighting to protect members who are treated at in-network hospitals from incurring out of pocket expenses due to surprise balance billing, which could happen if the hospital uses out-of-network physicians, without members' knowledge.
BCBSOK is focused on ensuring that members are treated by in-network health care providers when going to an in-network hospital, protecting them from surprise, out-of-network charges that often significantly exceed allowed amounts accepted by in-network providers, often known as "bill shock."
