Healthy Kids, Healthy Families®
Healthy Kids, Healthy Families (HKHF) began in 2011 as a three-year initiative designed to improve the health and wellness of at least 1 million children through community investments by Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) and its Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. With nearly 3 million children impacted to date, HKHF is now part of HCSC's ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of the children and families across the states where we operate.
The Healthy Kids, Healthy Families initiative invests in and partners with nonprofit organizations that offer sustainable, measurable programs to reach children and their families in the following areas:
- Physical activity
- Disease prevention and management
- Supporting safe environments

The Oklahoma Caring Van Program
Bringing mobile immunization outreach clinics to the community, our mobile health vans increase access to care to underinsured children and adults.
American Lung Association
We work with the American Lung Association in Oklahoma to fight childhood asthma. Our "Enhancing Care for Children with Asthma" project delivers training and resources to health care clinics serving large numbers of kids with asthma.
Partnering with KaBOOM!, we facilitate building safe community playgrounds and help spread the word about the importance of play to increase children's physical activity.
