Important update Regarding Shadow Mountain Behavioral Health

Jul. 20, 2017

Tulsa, Okla. – On July 10, 2017, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) terminated Shadow Mountain Behavioral Health System's (Shadow Mountain) participation in our Blue Traditional, Blue Choice PPOSM, Blue Preferred PPOSM and Blue Medicare Advantage PPOSM networks. The termination is effective immediately.

It is in our members' best interest that the termination was effective immediately with no transition period.

Members in the Tulsa area still have in-network access to the following behavioral health hospitals. For a complete list of alternate hospitals, use our Provider Finder®.

PPO members have the right to seek medical care from any provider or medical group they choose, understanding that out-of-pocket costs will be higher if they use a provider or facility that is not in our networks.  Starting July 11, 2017, services rendered at Shadow Mountain for PPO members will be paid at the out-of-network benefit level.

We understand changing to another facility can be difficult. We are here to help members in this process. Members who would like to know their options for in-network care, can use our Provider Finder® to locate a new provider in the area. They can register for or log in to Blue Access for MembersSM for personalized search results based on their health plan and network. Members can also call the customer service number on their ID card for assistance.
