Group to Retail: Keeping Members Blue Toolkit

June 18, 2020

In times of economic uncertainty, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) is committed to helping you and your employees navigate their health care coverage options.

Coverage Options for Groups

If you have employees who will be losing coverage under your employer health plan, those employees may have several options for alternative coverage:

  • Federal COBRA: Eligible employers with 20 or more employees must offer coverage under federal COBRA. Employees losing coverage due to a qualifying event, which can include job loss or a reduction in hours, may have the opportunity to enroll in COBRA coverage to continue their current group health plan.
  • Individual Retail Marketplace Plans: Any individual can enroll in a Marketplace plan, and some may qualify for financial assistance, depending on their income.

Group to Retail Toolkit

Our Keeping Members Blue Collateral Toolkit contains helpful tools and information that can be easily distributed to impacted employees. The toolkit includes:

  • Email template: Template explaining coverage options and individual enrollment resources in English and Spanish.
  • Flier: Available to print or digitally download in both English and Spanish that can be easily attached to an email template
  • Newsroom article: A more in-depth look at individual coverage options available that can be shared with impacted employees
  • Video: A short, one-minute video that is available in English and with Spanish subtitles

One-on-One Enrollment Assistance

Our BCBSOK Mobile Assistance Center (MAC) provides one-on-one assistance to help impacted individuals and families understand their coverage options. The MAC’s Community Outreach Specialists can help walk them through the enrollment process, see if they qualify for financial assistance and enroll them in a BCBSOK plan that best meets the needs of their family.

To contact the MAC directly, email MAC@bcbsok.com or visit EnrollNowOK.com.
