Expanded Options Offered to Members on Their Mental Health Journey

Mental health issues are prevalent, and they can impact our everyday life in a significant manner.

Tuesday, Oct. 10 is World Mental Health Day (WMHD) and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK), wants to recognize the importance of this day. The objective of WMHD is to raise awareness of mental health issues on a global scale and mobilize efforts in support of mental health. This also provides an opportunity for everyone working on mental health to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.

At BCBSOK, our Behavioral Health programs include options to help meet your needs through your mental health journey – whether someone is exploring troubled feelings for the first time, experiencing a relapse of a serious condition or something in between.

BCBSOK offers behavioral health benefits through a variety of group, government and Individual and Family Markets products. Our Behavioral Health Care Management is integrated with our medical care program, to help members access their behavioral health benefits and to improve care between medical and behavioral health providers.

BCBSOK also works to expand accessibility to quality, cost-effective behavioral health through its partnership with Headway, the largest network of therapists/psychiatrists in the United States. This online platform allows members to schedule in-network therapy and medication management appointments via a one-click booking experience. Members can also select the type of care they need – with options for virtual and in-person visits, different clinical specialties, as well as individual preference on language, race and ethnicity of the clinician.

With more than 4,000 behavioral health providers across the state, BCBSOK is here to connect Oklahomans to quality health care through every stage of life. For more information on our Behavioral Health Care Program, visit bcbsok.com or call 1-855-462-1781.
