New Mobile Mental Health Van Breaks Down Barriers to Access

The Oklahoma Caring Foundation and GRAND Mental Health have teamed up to launch a new mobile mental health clinic that provides behavioral health services to underserved Oklahomans living in rural areas around Tulsa.

The GRAND Mental Health Caring Van provides free support services, including mental health screenings, consultations, Medicaid application assistance, and housing and job placement support. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma administers The Oklahoma Caring Foundation, which includes the Oklahoma Caring Vans.

“One of the biggest barriers to quality mental health care is access,” said Josh Cantwell, GRAND Mental Health's CEO. "Through this partnership we can better connect people with valuable resources and services where and when they need them, changing lives and communities for the better."

The new co-branded Caring Van is staffed by GRAND Mental health and operated by the Oklahoma Caring Foundation. The mobile program has helped serve more than 240,000 Oklahomans since its founding in 2004.
