Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Announces 2021 Volunteer of the Year

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) has named employee Kelly Crowder as its 2021 Volunteer of the Year. Crowder, a coding investigator auditor based in Tulsa, regularly volunteers with the Jenks Community Food Bank and enjoys planning and participating in corporate-sponsored and Tulsa Area United Way volunteer opportunities.

"I've volunteered in many capacities over the years and love to give back to the community, especially with kids and seniors,” said Crowder. “For me, one of the best ways to find joy is to reach out and help others."

Crowder has 27 years of service with the company and is the 2022 Chair of the planning committee for BCBSOK’s Blue Corps Employee Volunteer Program. In honor of her award, BCBSOK has donated $1,000 to her charity of choice, Jenks Community Food Bank.

“Kelly has a heart for volunteerism, and she’s incredibly deserving of this honor,” said BCBSOK President Joseph R. Cunningham, M.D. “Now more than ever, local nonprofits need people like Kelly to step up and give back to those who need it most.”

Outside of work and volunteering, Crowder is a mom of three and enjoys spending time with her two grandsons.
