Oklahoma Caring Foundation Partners With the Oklahoma Dental Association to Reveal New Dental Van

A new dental van dedicated to serving Oklahomans was revealed Friday, Sept. 7 at the 2018 Homeless Alliance’s Sooner Stand Down veteran event. The new dental van, dedicated to providing oral health care services across the state of Oklahoma, was provided by a partnership through the Oklahoma Caring Foundation and the Oklahoma Dental Foundation.

The new van will focus on preventive oral health services and education for children and adults, while providing free, year-round preventive oral health care to those who qualify.

The van will be coordinated and staffed by the Oklahoma Dental Foundation and administered by the Oklahoma Caring Foundation. The dental van helps eliminate financial, geographical and situational barriers to dental care access.

“With this new dental van, we are expanding our geographic reach, as well as the lifesaving preventive oral health services,” said Brooke Townsend, Oklahoma Caring Foundation executive director. “We are proud to partner with the Oklahoma Dental Foundation to serve children and adults across the state of Oklahoma.”

The Caring Van will accompany the Oklahoma Dental Foundation’s MobileSmiles unit to sites, increasing efficiency and the number of treatments provided at each location.
