Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Hosts Tribal Roundtable Focused on Health Equity

Annual event committed to strengthen partnerships, align resources and advance health equity

OKLAHOMA CITY — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma hosted its annual Tribal Partners Roundtable, bringing together tribal health providers from across Oklahoma to discuss the evolving health needs of American Indian populations across Oklahoma.

Established in 2012, the Tribal Roundtable provides a collaborative platform for tribal leaders, health care professionals, and BCBSOK leadership to engage in meaningful dialogue around health policies, access to care, and responsive solutions aimed at improving health outcomes for American Indian communities.

“This event is an important opportunity for us to listen, learn, and work alongside our tribal partners to better understand the barriers and opportunities in health care,” said Stephania Grober, BCBSOK President. “We are dedicated to building sustainable relationships that support the long-term health of every Oklahoman.”

At the event, the Oklahoma Caring Foundation, sponsored by BCBSOK, and the Chickasaw Nation celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Chickasaw Nation Caring Van. Since 2015, they have hosted over 300 free clinics, serving more than 21,000 individuals across southern Oklahoma. These clinics provide free health services including immunizations, sports physicals and health care education.

The annual Tribal Roundtable reaffirms BCBSOK’s ongoing commitment to support the health and well-being of American Indian populations by fostering collaboration and investing in solutions that meet the unique needs of tribal communities.
