Tertiary Claim Rejections – Electronic Submitter Alert
It has been determined that electronic tertiary claims received by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) have been rejecting since June 27, 2012. Specifically, BCBSOK was incorrectly rejecting tertiary claims for balancing issues.
Due to the above situation, you may have received a rejection notice from BCBSOK through Availity® or your preferred electronic claims clearinghouse, which stated the following:
- Due to other claims reject(s); batch was rejected.
- Tertiary claims are not accepted electronically at this time.
Please be informed that BCBSOK will be prepared to resume accepting tertiary claims electronically beginning the week of Aug. 20, 2012. We are working to identify impacted claims that must be resubmitted. Submitters of impacted claims will receive another response file with details.
