Making an Impact
Leadership View
Proud to Be Blue for 80 years
As we celebrate Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) 80th Anniversary, I’m proud of our employees and our commitment to improving the health and wellness of not just our members, but all Oklahomans.
Our company continues to introduce valuable community-minded initiatives and activities that wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and generosity of our employees.
In addition to health and wellness, philanthropy and volunteerism are at the core of our company’s culture. Throughout 2019, more than 560 of our employees participated in 138 company volunteer activities and logged 13,844 hours of service to 261 nonprofit partners across the state through the Blue Corp Employee Volunteer Program. In addition to their time, employees also donated to organizations through our annual employee giving campaign, participated in donation drives and supported entrepreneurship programs.
As a company, BCBSOK continues to invest in community organizations that have a positive impact on the health of our state. I’m honored to serve as the president of a company that supports our neighbors and communities each year.
Like all of our dedicated Oklahoma team members, I am Proud to Be Blue and looking forward to seeing where the next 80 years takes us.
Sincerely,
Joseph R. Cunningham, M.D.
