Expanding Integration of Supplemental Health and Medical Claims

Nov. 5, 2025

(Applies to all groups*)

Beginning Jan. 1, medical and Supplemental Health claims integration will include dependents. With member permission, most qualifying medical events will automatically trigger the claim filing process for Supplemental Health products (Accident, Critical Illness or Hospital Indemnity insurance). This makes the claims process easier for all eligible members and gives them a seamless, cohesive experience.

What’s new? In addition to adding dependents, we’ve enhanced our existing email and SMS communication strategy and added a new personalized postcard. This means our integrated claims process now applies to all members of groups who provide medical and Supplemental Health membership data, including members without an email or phone number on record with us who previously weren’t able to receive communications from us.

How does it work? When a member has a qualifying medical event, they receive a personalized text, email or postcard with a QR code asking to allow our medical and Supplemental Health teams to share claims data. Once the member authorizes it, their Supplemental Health claim will be automatically processed. The member or their dependent will not need to submit an additional claim form.

By automatically processing the Supplemental Health claim, we alleviate the need for our members to remember their additional coverage and to submit a claim form on their own.
