Health Risk Assessment Outreach Underway for Medicare Advantage Members

What’s happening: We are reaching out to Medicare Advantage members to encourage them to complete their Health Risk Assessment (HRA) via email. Get a sample email .

Why it matters: HRAs are required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for Medicare Advantage plans. The assessment evaluates a member’s overall health, identifies potential risks and supports appropriate preventive care.

What members can expect:

  • Emails started launching in January and will continue through 2026.
  • In the email, the member is invited to complete an HRA over the phone.
  • If they opt-in, a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma representative will call the member and execute the HRA.

What you should know: This outreach is part of CMS compliance efforts and supports improved member experience and care outcomes. No action is required from you at this time.
