2027 Medicare Supplement Rate Letters Mail Soon
Oct. 28, 2026
Applies to Medicare Markets
Members will soon receive their 2027 Medicare Supplement rate notices. Be prepared to discuss premium changes, available discounts and plan alternatives that may help members manage their health care costs.
Happening Soon
Rate change letters will be mailed in early November. The premium shown in the letter reflects the standard rate before any eligible discounts are applied. No discounts are factored into the rate stated in the letter.
New rates will take effect on the first payment due on or after Jan. 1, 2027. For specific plan rates, refer to the outline of coverage or rate book.
Helping Members Manage Costs
For members concerned about higher premiums, consider reviewing alternative Medicare Supplement options or available discounts.
Lower-premium plan options include:
- Blue Plan 65 Select plans, which offer lower rates in exchange for using a network of over 100 contracted hospitals for non-emergency inpatient care. Members must live within 25 miles of any Blue Plan 65 Select contracted hospital to qualify. Find a contracted Select hospital.
- High-Deductible Plan G, which provides the same core benefits as Plan G with a lower monthly premium and a higher upfront deductible.
- Compare benefits for high-deductible and Select plans.
Reminder: When Switching Plans
A new application is required when a member switches to a different Medicare Supplement plan. A Notice of Replacement form is only needed when moving from another carrier to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma.
Medicare Supplement Discounts
Members may qualify for one of the following discounts:
- Blue Family Discount℠ (12%) for eligible members who meet both Household Discount and Continue with Blue℠ discount requirements.
- Household Discount (10%) for members who live with an eligible spouse, partner or up to three qualifying adults age 60 or older.
- Continue with Blue Discount (7%) for members who previously had qualifying Blue Cross and Blue Shield coverage active within one year of their Medicare Supplement plan becoming effective. Prior coverage can be from any Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan in the U.S.
Members can receive only one discount, and discounts cannot be applied retroactively.
