Oklahoma Senate Bill 109 requires coverage without cost sharing of the following when medically necessary:
- Clinical genetic testing for inherited gene mutation for individuals with personal or family history of cancer
- Evidence-based cancer imaging for individuals with increased risk of cancer
High-deductible health plan members must meet their deductible first unless it’s preventive.
What’s the impact to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma plans?
- Clinical genetic testing for inherited gene mutation will be covered without cost sharing for members with a personal or family history of cancer.
- Various evidence-based cancer screenings will be covered without cost sharing for members with an increased risk of cancer, as recommended by a provider.
- HDHP members must meet their deductible first (unless the testing or screening is a preventive service).
When does this go into effect? Upon renewal on or after Nov. 1, 2025.
