Pharmacy Programs

If you're a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of OklahomaSM member with pharmacy benefits through us, you may have access to certain pharmacy programs. They focus on making specialty prescriptions easily available. They help deliver medications to your home or doctor. And they give you access to vaccines at pharmacies near you.

Specialty Pharmacies

Specialty Pharmacies for Specialty Drugs

Specialty drugs treat serious or chronic conditions such as hepatitis C, cancer, and multiple sclerosis. Treating these conditions may call for medications that have special handling or storage needs and require select specialty pharmacies.

If you're looking for a specialty pharmacy, log in to your member account  to review in-network specialty pharmacies.

Split-Fill Program

The split-fill program may apply to some medications that treat cancer, multiple sclerosis and iron toxicity. That way you can try the medication to make sure there are no serious side effects. For these drugs, you may get a part of your prescription and pay for that part only. When you know you have no side-effect issues, you fill the rest of the prescription. The program varies based on your plan benefits.

Home Delivery / Mail Order Pharmacies

You have the option of getting up to a 90-day supply of long-term (or maintenance) medications through a network of retail and mail service pharmacies. Maintenance medications are those drugs you may take on an ongoing basis to treat conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure or diabetes.

For more information, download the 90-Day Supply Program Member Flier .

Getting Started

1. Ask your doctor for a prescription of a 90-day supply of each of your long-term medicines. Download the maintenance drug list  to check if your medication can be filled in a 90-day supply.

2. To purchase your prescription:

  • At a network “90-day” retail pharmacy – take your prescription to your pharmacy or have your doctor submit the prescription electronically.
  • Through mail order – order online, through a mobile device, over the phone or through the mail. You can find contact information for these pharmacies in your member account.
